A Ghost Town….Rhyolite, Nevada
Friday, February 26th, 2010This past September I was lucky enough to attend a wedding seminar in Las Vegas. We took a little down time….and went to visit one of Nevada’s biggest ghost towns. It was founded in 1904 and the last resident died in 1924. The buildings are original…and I loved the house built with 30,000 bottles (some medicine, but mostly beer bottles thrown away from the saloon) in 1906. It took only 5 1/2 months to build! I loved looking up the history on the old town….and ran into this site which gives you a tour and some old pictures from back in the day….
