A Ghost Town….Rhyolite, Nevada

Friday, February 26th, 2010

This past September I was lucky enough to attend a wedding seminar in Las Vegas.  We took a little down time….and went to visit one of Nevada’s biggest ghost towns.  It was founded in 1904 and the last resident died in 1924. The buildings are original…and I loved the house built with 30,000  bottles (some medicine, but mostly beer bottles thrown away from the saloon) in 1906. It took only 5 1/2 months to build! I loved looking up the history on the old town….and ran into this site which gives you a tour and some old pictures from back in the day…. So I won’t bore you with the details…for those who care can check it out here…  http://www.rhyolitesite.com/index.html

Anyway, here are just a few of my favorites:

More than Wedding Photography…..

Wednesday, February 24th, 2010

Most people I know would call me a wedding photographer. Of course I LOVE shooting weddings….but I also think that shooting other areas of photography (babies,  landscapes, entertainment, and commercial stuff)  makes me a BETTER wedding photographer! I don’t ever want to be the photographer that ‘knows it all.’ To me that means I’ve turned  into a stuffy old man, who dislikes his job, and only does it because it pays well.  And I never want to be ‘stuck’ in one way of shooting. I see it as an art, and I want to contiue to mold it with new ideas. Thats why I love taking seminars, reading books…and listening to the photographers I love talk about what inspires them. I guess, in a nutshell, it’s not about a girl and her camera….it’s about a way of life.

Anyway, I was doing some PC “cleaning” and ran into some images that I love.  So I thought over the next week or so, I’d showcase come stuff that doesn’t get enough “limelight”.

Back n November 2009 I photographed a friends band in New York. It was a great time….and here are a few of my faves….

Cya in a few days…

A Box Made Just For You!

Wednesday, February 3rd, 2010

Many of our brides ask us, “exactly what is a proof box?”

A proof box is…well, a box to put your proofs in…..   :)

But, I’ve decided that our proof boxes deserve a little more credit than that! They are beautiful..and uniquely yours.  Many of our brides are “scrappers” and love the fact that they can have their proofs to scrap with, but don’t have to bother with a proof album.

We also use these in the studio for family pictures, baby pictures, etc.

So if your looking for a unique box that will hold your treasured memories, then this box is for you! (and as a bonus, I always order the box a little bigger than then I need it to be….so that you can put in some of  your  own fav images as well!!
